The system

The main element of Adhoco's smart home solution is an intelligent central control unit in an attractive design, color-display and internet connection, forming the heart of the adaptive automation system. The communication to sensors and actuators is by wireless, encrypted radio communication. A direct connection to broadband internet enables the home owner to have a look at his home at any time and from any place, and to monitor and control appliances. Alarms in form of SMS or email can also be sent.

The Adhoco solution for "intelligent living" brings better comfort, higher security, lower energy consumption and attractive support features to your home.

All major functions are coordinated in one singe system. All the information of all the sensors is available for an optimized and coordinated control of home appliances such as lights, blinds, windows, heating radiators etc.

The system makes use of today's global standards for automation and embedded controls, such as OSGi and Zigbee. Products from other manufactureres can thus be integrated into the system.

The components of the system (developed by Adhoco):

  • central control unit with self-learning and auto-configuration features (adhoco.H1)
  • a wireless presence and illuminance sensor (adhoco.P1)
  • a wireless temperature and humidity sensor with sensor keys to set preferred values (adhoco.C1)
  • a wireless mini meteo station measuring temperature, humidity, irradiance and wind (adhoco.M1)
  • an actuator to switch light and other appliances up to 13 A (adhoco.S1)
  • a dimmer to continuously regulate light and other appliances up to 300 W (adhoco.S2)
  • a control box to control textile or venetian blinds (adhoco.B1)
  • a wireless radiator valve for central heating control (adhoco.V1)
  • a remote control (adhoco.R1)

Why automation?

Automation for the home is the use of technology in order to, without any human interaction, increase living comfort, save energy, provide safety, and offer assistance for elderly or disabled people. Thus, Home automation is much more than just a comfortable way of controlling home appliances.

Adaption as a key to a good solution

Adaptive Home Automation (AHA) systems learn from the inhabitants' behavior and use these patterns to adapt the decision and control rules. This learning feature makes automation very well accepted by users who would otherwise refuse to use it.

Furthermore, a self-configurating AHA system does not need to be set up and parameterized by service personnel. The devices and the communication in-between organize themselves without user interaction.

Adhoco's solution is an adaptive, self-configurating home automation system. The right solution for high user satisfaction and low total costs of ownership.
